Synopsis

Following a test flight marred by a rocket malfunction, the Mercury Seven astronauts journey home for Christmas. For Alan Shepard, the holidays prove complicated; his parents' unexpected visit coincides with the arrival of Louise’s niece. Gordo Cooper finds his carefully constructed peace threatened by the reappearance of a former mistress. Meanwhile, John Glenn endeavors to cultivate a connection with a promising political figure and presidential contender, John F. Kennedy.
