Synopsis

Mark's uncle, Johnny Gibb, a celebrated rodeo rider, arrived for a visit. Mark held his uncle in high regard, but Lucas soon discovered that Johnny was fleeing from the law, wanted for an Express Office robbery. Stacy owned a bronco named Lucifer, a beast no one had managed to stay mounted for more than fifteen seconds. Alvah, seeking to diminish the esteemed Mr. Stacy, proposed that Johnny ride Lucifer, wagering with the townsfolk that he could stay aboard for thirty seconds. Johnny agreed, the
