Synopsis

Wes Carney and his wife, Clair, sought a place to put down roots, and North Fork seemed a promising prospect. Wes, a gunfighter of considerable renown, had pledged to Clair that he would relinquish his weapons for good. They envisioned a life of simplicity and honest labor, and the Feed and Grain Store, now for sale, appeared to offer the ideal opportunity. Carney’s reputation, coupled with the news of his intended quiet life, drew a contingent of trouble-makers to North Fork. Lucas was the only
