Synopsis

The old Confederate veteran, bitterness etched deep into his features, proposed a card game to Yuma: two weeks of labor on the man’s land. Yuma, confident in his skill, accepted. He lost. The terms of the wager, however, were not as Yuma had imagined. He soon discovered that his servitude would be performed under conditions mirroring those endured in the prison camp the man had suffered through.
