It was Saint Patrick’s Day on Bourbon Street, and Knight was determined to dye himself green. While half the group spent the holiday volunteering at the New Orleans Mission, Knight, Jemmye, Preston, and McKenzie embraced the tradition: drinking until they became disoriented, embroiled in a quarrel with a telephone, overcome with tears, fleeing the scene, and ultimately losing consciousness.
