Word having reached her of an incident in Australia – something she didn’t want to be entangled in – Irulan had already packed, preparing to return home. Alton questioned their roommates about her departure, and Brynn suggested it was likely a consequence of something *he* had done. He couldn't fathom that she would leave because of him, insisting he was blameless, dismissing everything being said as fabrications. Arissa, however, drew Irulan aside, persuading her that she would appear stronger
