Synopsis

After a grueling four months on Guadalcanal, Leckie, Basilone, and countless comrades set foot in Melbourne, met by cheering crowds who hailed them as heroes. While his fellow soldiers celebrated, Leckie found himself drawn to an Australian woman and her family, recent immigrants from Greece. Meanwhile, Basilone received the Medal of Honor and was asked to return to the United States to assist in selling war bonds.
