Following the environmentalists' triumph in outlawing hunting, a black market blossomed. Humans now paid handsomely to hunt androids deemed obsolete in the mines. These automatons proved ideal prey: formidable and intelligent, yet incapable of resistance thanks to an inhibitor chip preventing harm to humans.
