The trailer might mislead you; this isn’t intended to be humorous. While it possesses a quirky quality, it feels closer in spirit to Firefly than Star Trek. It doesn't attempt any groundbreaking originality, instead drawing on familiar tropes seen in comparable programs. The characters and their assignments are engaging, the visuals are stunning, and while the narrative incorporates fresh ideas, it ultimately follows a predictable path of morality and justice, with moments of introspection included. However, two tired concepts become noticeable: arrogant male aliens, and androids that feel overly rigid and patronizing. A significant misstep was extending the time-travel plot beyond a single episode; this has been the undoing of countless series, and this one is no different. I suggest stopping at Season 2 unless there’s a dramatic shift in direction and they abandon the time travel elements altogether.
