Even though I've become quite critical of the BBC recently, "The Night Manager" has proven to be a success. Adapted from John le Carré’s novel, the initial season was truly outstanding. It functions as an exceptional spy story, featuring a restrained and polished portrayal by Tom Hiddleston in the central part. This is all supported by a talented ensemble of actors and impressive production quality. There's not much to find fault with here, except maybe the idea that British intelligence agencies are somehow harmless when operating internationally. The second season looks like it could be good as well. I’m just concerned that it won’t simply repeat what came before, swapping out the actors and locations. Basically, "The Night Manager" represents the kind of BBC programming I'd like to see more often: strong narratives, a superb cast, and high production standards. It’s definitely worth watching if you enjoy espionage thrillers.
