Synopsis

The annual camping trip of the Weavers and Bird-Kersees provided Marty with a yearly opportunity to emulate his father's ruggedness. He strained to appear as capable and self-sufficient as the older man, a constant, often clumsy, striving for a masculine ideal. This year, however, their outing held a different kind of significance; a shared moment with the wild, an unexpected encounter with an animal that would linger in their memories.
