The initial episodes held my interest; I kept watching because the personalities were appealing and the storylines and jokes worked well enough. It was something of a curiosity to see how things went off track at the end, though it did impact the show’s overall standard in certain areas. Some of the side stories got excessively strange and unbelievable, and attempts to mirror shows like "This is Us" by flashing back and forward felt unoriginal and forced. Susie and Mrs. Maisel appeared exaggerated and distanced from what was happening, and the other actors didn't quite have enough power to keep the narrative progressing effectively. I’m not going to say that it made me dislike the series or cause me to quit watching because that wasn't the case. However, as someone who writes novels, it seemed they were so focused on injecting drama into the show that they might not have realized they sacrificed a smooth and flowing story in the process.
