It’s becoming obvious that a less compelling female character will be stepping into the role previously held by Mando; the writing team seems determined to portray him as incompetent, frequently getting him captured only for this new character to save him. This pattern feels deliberate, mirroring what's happened in other Disney series where popular characters are being supplanted by these replacements. It’s disappointing because the show wasn't exceptional, but considering it's a Disney Star Wars production, simply not being terrible makes it surprisingly enjoyable. I hesitate to suggest it had the capacity to be truly great, but at least it didn't actively alienate viewers, which is what made it stand out within the current landscape of Disney Star Wars.
