It seems likely that the abrupt shifts from attempts at humor to genuinely disturbing violence are meant to cover up this lack of real substance. Ultimately, I don't believe it succeeds very well. This isn't a dark comedy; it’s more of an action series focused on violent retribution. The positives include reasonably good acting, but the exaggerated character portrayals and an inconsistent tone ultimately hold back the performances. Overall, the writing feels disappointingly superficial, aiming for black comedy territory but landing as a straightforward revenge fantasy/action series.
