I’m going to be straightforward and go against what others might say—Stephen King isn't really my thing. I’ve tried a few of his books, and honestly, in my view, they often feel excessively lengthy. "The Institute" drags on for an extended period before anything genuinely captivating happens. This is despite having a strong cast, with Mary-Louise Parker being particularly good; many will recognize her from "Weeds." Basically, people who watch shows like I do don't necessarily object to a slow start, but when that stretches out into several episodes, I think it’s reasonable to expect something more engaging relatively quickly. What works well are the performances, the production design, the visual effects, and the action sequences. Ultimately, for me, "The Institute" doesn't pick up momentum fast enough. It’s hard to suggest watching this.
