Synopsis

Alex travels to Torquay, a place once famed as the fictional home to Britain’s most infamous hotel. The twelve-room guesthouse, Number Nine, lacks the chaotic charm of Fawlty Towers, yet it is undeniably flawed, struggling with dwindling clientele and dwindling finances. Owner Rachel Roffe confesses to feeling overwhelmed. “A week after I arrived, I recall sitting in the garden and simply breaking down, thinking, ‘Oh God, what have I done?’” she says.
