It’s easy to imagine future generations believing these books, along with Harry Potter, represent the entirety of what those who champion censorship were consuming. They'll likely discover both stories made their way to television as well. The initial HBO adaptation from the nineteen nineties was worthwhile because it possessed a discernible storyline and genuinely supported Atwood’s vision. However, those responsible for the project later shifted away from Atwood when she defended Due Process during the #MeToo movement, gradually distancing themselves from her work—a shift that became increasingly overt in its political messaging. That's the point where I lose interest.
