Synopsis

After thirteen years at the quarry, and following a reduction in his wages, Fred resolved to leave and become a bus driver. With Barney beside him as co-pilot, he began transporting fifty children to school—a truly harrowing undertaking. Determined not to be defeated by the work, he conscientiously collected them again for their return journey, only to find himself delivering them to the wrong houses.
