The initial three episodes of The Faraway Paladin work to establish the world’s backstory, attempting to convey why viewers should be invested and how captivating it could be. However, after that promising start, the series really falters, squandering any potential interest in either the setting or its inhabitants. What began as visually appealing environments devolves into dull, lifeless areas of gray and brown, lingering for extended periods that feel like a deliberate waste of time. The animation quality diminishes to resemble a basic slideshow presentation, featuring sluggish, uninspired combat sequences that overstay their welcome. And when he isn't engaged in battles, the protagonist comes across as overly timid and weak. When you find yourself struggling to stay awake while watching, it’s a clear sign of a fundamentally flawed production. I cannot suggest this series to anyone who appreciates their free time. 2/10 It's so bad that if sleep aids don't work, watching this show will.
