It’s yet another science fiction series set supposedly hundreds of years from now, but the innovations feel surprisingly limited—mostly just spaceships, transparent phones, and that’s about it. Characters still use firearms, medical procedures seem stuck in early 2000s technology, people perform physical jobs, maintain religious beliefs, and exist within a rigid social hierarchy. I was expecting to see things like stasis pods, quantum computing, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, cybernetic enhancements, or evolved humans—things that usually define this kind of futuristic setting. Of course, there’s also the predictable romantic subplot involving the main characters, and a lead who initially seems reasonable but then abruptly starts acting impulsively and resorting to violence. Despite some visually impressive scenes, the plot fails to truly engage, and the overall world feels uninspired; it's a concept we've encountered many times before.
