Synopsis

By 1989, Jimmy had transformed his production skills into a career as co-founder of Interscope Records, a label dedicated to artists pushing creative boundaries. These included Trent Reznor's Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Gwen Stefani, and No Doubt, as well as Dr. Dre, whose solo album *The Chronic*, recorded for Death Row Records – a label Dre himself founded with Suge Knight, the D.O.C., and Dick Griffey following his departure from N.W.A – had captivated him. Impressed by Dre’s distinctive
