Synopsis

The competition between Dean and Alex Honnold sharpened as they both sought to be the first to free solo a route on the imposing three thousand foot face of El Capitan. As Dean’s psychological resilience began to fray, he distanced himself from those closest to him and embraced a precarious professional venture in China.
