I found "**The Dangers in My Heart**" initially pretty uncomfortable, honestly, extremely awkward. However, it developed into a genuinely heartwarming story about the characters’ personal journeys. I was drawn in from the start, even with those initial cringey moments, but by the finale, it became one of the best shows this season! The central character, **Kyoutarou**, is pretty much the embodiment of awkwardness. He comes across as intense and unsettling, even expressing desires to harm his classmates (which is a bit alarming!). I assumed that was all there was to it, but he ultimately proved to be someone decent. While he maintains a tough exterior, he's perceptive and helpful, despite being unusual. Each episode’s title includes "Karte," which references a patient record in Japanese. It felt like watching Kyoutarou gradually recover from his "**chuunibyou**" – essentially, acting overly dramatic. The show demonstrates this progression without explicitly stating it; you witness him slowly becoming more open, interacting with others, and gaining confidence. It’s not often you see a character evolve so naturally, particularly within the romcom genre, which can frequently fall into familiar patterns. Also, it's refreshing to see Kyoutarou is shorter than the girl he has feelings for—not something commonly depicted in anime! Then there’s **Anna**, who appears flawless in everyone else’s eyes. But she turns out to be a bit of a quirky person who does some odd things that leave you questioning her thought process. Initially, Kyoutarou idealizes her, but as they become closer, his perception of her shifts, and despite her being taller, they share a stronger connection. The **animation** is really well done too, and the music is fantastic, composed by a well-known artist who's worked on other popular shows. From the awkwardness of first love to the touching moments that gave me such a warm feeling, this show has become one of my all-time favorite romcoms. I’m really hoping these two quirky characters have more experiences together!
