"The Copenhagen Test," an espionage thriller, proves to be disappointing. Although the performers are generally adequate and the action sequences are handled professionally, the series struggles because its narrative doesn't quite coalesce. The idea of an American intelligence operative whose mind has been compromised, with all his actions observed by a shadowy, likely antagonistic force, feels shaky as a basis for a story. This leads to numerous artificial and frequently uncomfortable situations that don’t achieve what the writing intended. A sprinkling of predictable but still irritating progressive themes and assertions about America's superiority doesn’t improve matters. Ultimately, "The Copenhagen Test" is a tedious experience, hampered by an initial concept that was destined to be difficult to translate into a compelling narrative.
