I didn't read Comey's book, but I kept up with everything that went down as it unfolded, and I believe this adaptation gives a reasonably accurate account of those events. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if there’s some self-serving spin included to portray him in a more favorable light; we all tend to see ourselves in the best possible terms, and after all, it is his story. The series was moderately engaging, and it helped clarify certain aspects for me. For example, the subplot involving those two FBI agents that the former president attempted to embarrass during rallies by acting out what he thought was a sexual encounter—now that I consider it—may offer an explanation as to why he felt compelled to pay for expensive escorts. I wasn’t entirely clear on how those incidents related to the bigger picture before. Naturally, around 30% of voters in this country probably loathed even the brief portion they saw, and I'll concede that it’s far from a cinematic triumph or a story that absolutely needed to be shared, but as I mentioned earlier, it did provide some missing pieces for me and spared me the effort of reading the book. So, I’m pleased I watched it. If the book is ever prohibited like *Huckleberry Finn* and other controversial writings, I won't have completely missed out on whatever message it conveys.
