The show seemed initially capable of achieving something similar to Watchmen, but ideological agendas ultimately stifled any genuine exploration of social or political issues present in the original comic. It’s noticeable—and frankly tiresome—that characters holding positions of authority are invariably female, unless they're portrayed as antagonists; this feels like a predictable pattern that pulls focus from the challenges inherent in accepting a superhero narrative. The characters themselves are uniformly unpleasant, which might have been intentional, but it becomes difficult to invest in anyone’s fate as their supposedly sympathetic qualities gradually disappear and are replaced by shallow traits. While graphic content can be entertaining, here it's pushed too far, potentially leading to discomfort for viewers. There’s an excessive amount of divisive political messaging, a pervasive sense of ideological influence, and what seems like a prejudiced agenda that makes me hesitant to continue beyond season 3. Proceed with caution, especially if your views don't align with a particular extreme political viewpoint.
