This is a fantastic show taking place in a world where superheroes genuinely exist. The influence of capitalism is everywhere; financial gain dominates people’s thoughts. Predictably, these superpowered individuals exploit their abilities for personal advantage and engage in numerous unethical acts. The motivations behind each hero's actions are revealed to varying degrees. There's an excellent mix of significant, weighty narratives alongside smaller, darker humorous moments. The protagonists, 'The Boys,' aim to dismantle this entire structure because of their own experiences with certain superheroes. Their activities are the central focus. It’s a clear rejection of the superhero genre, and its visual style and themes evoke comparisons to 'Watchmen' or other similarly dark and gritty series. The show is very graphic, which works exceptionally well. The violence and depictions of sexual situations contribute significantly to its impact and sense of realism; it wouldn’t be nearly as compelling without them. It’s certainly not suitable for children, in my opinion.
