Synopsis

Driven by grief and a thirst for vengeance, Cesare gathers a company of mercenaries, aided by Micheletto, to pursue the fleeing French soldiers who had torched the nunnery where his beloved Ursula had resided. Meanwhile, the Pope skillfully cultivates new alliances, bolstering his power and fortune. And Lucrezia joins Giulia in her efforts to alleviate the suffering of Rome's impoverished citizens.
