Synopsis

The arrival of reserve troops offered a fleeting sense of respite, intended for a mere demonstration. The wait on the desolate ground was profoundly dull. During a meal break, Delia, Norika, and June discovered a distressed probationer in the lavatories. Tensions were mounting; Young himself was beginning to question the purpose of his continued service. The van, en route back to the station, was ambushed by youths wielding sticks and launching petrol bombs. Windows shattered, and a member of th
