Synopsis

P.C. Stringer pursued a young woman on foot, a thief who had made off with goods from a jeweler's shop. However, P.C. Stamp apprehended her, citing her presence in a motorcar. Stamp endured a barrage of unpleasantness from the jeweler upon the return of his stolen property, and Inspector Monroe was similarly subjected to the man's displeasure. Stringer felt the weight of accusatory glances as it became clear a necklace remained unaccounted for. Later, D.C. Dashwood began an inquiry into the thef
