Synopsis

P.C. Edwards and W.P.C. Morgan discover the body of a young woman, nude and seemingly the victim of gas poisoning. However, they observe the neighbor who reported the death furtively wiping something from the girl's mouth. D.C. Carver struggles to reconcile himself with D.C. Lines’ twelve years on the force. Lines harbors doubts about the death being a suicide, and his sharp detective work impresses Carver as he unravels the truth: the neighbor, Kelly, had used chloroform to incapacitate the gir
