Synopsis

The Acting Detective Chief Constable survived the shooting, though the possibility remains that he will suffer paralysis. Reconnecting with his estranged mother, he resolves to return to Manchester. Detective Chief Inspector Meadows and CID launch a search for the gunman, their investigation leading them to Isaac Collins, a former acquaintance of Superintendent Okaro.
