The lives of PC Kerry Young and Sgt Dale Smith hung precariously, moments from a fatal gunshot, when a raid on Hedley's Club intervened. Led by Sgt June Ackland and DCs Rob Thatcher and Ken Drummond, the operation arrived just in time to avert disaster.
