Synopsis

Despite Sergeant June Ackland’s assurance that it wouldn't occur, a clandestine operation is being orchestrated to ensnare Des at Niamh’s funeral. The revelation of this deception deeply distresses Sheelagh Murphy, culminating in a dramatic outburst. While her humiliated husband stands by, she announces to the assembled guests that Des is the father. Driven to a desperate decision, Sheelagh resolves to flee with Des, but at the eleventh hour, informs Superintendent Adam Okaro of her intentions.
