Synopsis

Detective Inspector Conway was taken aback when an elderly man, a retired officer himself, appeared at the station carrying a suitcase filled with half a million pounds, which he insisted he’d discovered lying on the pavement. While PC Rickman meticulously counted the money, Conway resolved to investigate; such an extraordinary claim seemed inherently implausible.
