Synopsis

Beech and Deakin moved into the shadowy world of a crooked poker game, where the dealer, Steve Travis, had been known to pay with drugs when defeat was his fate. To expose Travis's illicit dealings, Deakin adopted the guise of an Irish businessman and dared him to a high-stakes, winner-takes-all match, while Beech enlisted a small-time player in Travis's debt as a means of drawing him into a trap. Throughout the operation, DI Carter of the Drugs Squad remained unsettled, observed by Meadows.
