Synopsis

Stumbling from the pub, Jim Carver was intercepted by Alec Facer, a former Detective Inspector whom he’d known during his time in CID. Facer extended an offer: a position at Marlowe’s, a respected private investigation agency. Carver accepted without hesitation. The job was practically secured when Facer asked him to locate a woman suspected of embezzlement. The search led them to a women's refuge.
