Synopsis

Ashton intervened when two masked men attempted to set a house ablaze. Burnside was assigned from the Crime Occupancy unit to investigate; a similar arson had occurred on Stafford Row, falling within their jurisdiction. Simultaneously, Holmes was approached by a witness in the case of a brutal stabbing, who had unexpectedly withdrawn from testifying. It transpired that the intended victim of the arson was the witness's brother-in-law, and the other witness was the boyfriend of the woman hospital
