Synopsis

Detective Inspector Deakin assumed the guise of a nervous printer, settling into a seat at the dog track. He waited there for a man known only as "Frank" and a crooked copper called "Beech." The entire arrangement, it transpired, was a carefully orchestrated sting operation involving the Wimbledon police, designed to ensnare a conman who dealt in stolen credit cards.
