Synopsis

Meadows and Deakin are investigating the brutal assault of a pregnant woman, a crime that followed a mugging. Tony Lawrence, a repeat offender, offers little comment. But after Meadows persuades his friend, Patrick Christian, to withdraw his unreliable legal advice, Christian begins to talk. The crucial element of the case, however, emerges from a drug user arrested by Slater on possession charges – a witness to the entire attack.
