Synopsis

A rift has formed between Beech and Monroe in the wake of a drowned bookmaker’s recovery from the Thames. Beech is convinced that one of his clients, Brian Mackay, is concealing information, particularly after he breaks into the deceased man's office to pilfer his client file. Monroe, however, finds himself drawn to the unsettling behavior of the man’s son-in-law and endeavors to persuade Beech to consider a different line of inquiry, one centered on the son-in-law’s potential motives.
