Synopsis

Carmelite Mendoza, a girl barely into her teens, vanished from a Caribbean island. Steed, however, sensed something deeper than simple abduction; he believed politics lay at the heart of it. His unease solidified when Vasco, the Mendoza family’s long-serving retainer, was seen committing the initial kidnapping and then taking the girl for himself.
