With Andy absent in Raleigh, weighing a potential position, Barney found himself serving as temporary sheriff, consumed by visions of holding the office permanently. Yet, his attempts at maintaining order seemed only to generate further complications; and increasingly, he questioned whether his ambition truly matched the reality of the role.
