This show really resonated with me; it’s become something of a personal connection because I’m an autistic man—my name is Joe. While my experiences differ from the main character, who received his diagnosis at age five, I recognized many parallels to my own life, as I was diagnosed when I was ten. The supporting characters are also well-developed; Rebecca, his sister, is wonderful, and her friend is fantastic too. Greg McHugh’s portrayal of Uncle Eddie is a particular highlight, though his wife, Nicola, isn't exactly loyal. The show includes his dad who tries to do the right thing, an overbearing mother, and a rather hostile grandfather. We also encounter different therapists, babysitters (who are all great!), Rebecca’s boyfriend with questionable ethics, and his unpleasant companion. I strongly recommend checking this out; it's worth your time! :)
