Synopsis

Eric keeps his struggles with mathematics from Red, driven by a desire to demonstrate his burgeoning seriousness about the future. Red, deeply impressed by his son’s newfound maturity, inadvertently jostles Laurie at the Thanksgiving table, offering her seat to Eric. The gesture sparks in Eric a feeling that the moment to announce his engagement to Donna has finally arrived. Yet, the woman Kelso brings as his date to the Formans' dinner introduces an unforeseen complication.
