It’s disappointing when programs like this get canceled because they deserve another run. American Horror Story attempts a similar concept, but on a far grander scale, introducing a fresh narrative each season that's intended to be linked in a sweeping fashion...and that approach is acceptable; however... Tales From the Crypt simply presented a new and distinct story weekly, with contributions from very skilled writers, directors, and actors. The episodes varied—some were science fiction, others westerns, still more involved monsters or comedy—but all demonstrated superb craftsmanship. A nice thing about it was that you didn't need to worry about catching up if you missed an installment. Also, if a specific episode wasn’t to your taste, you could return the following week for something completely different. The standard of excellence remained consistent and fostered a remarkable level of originality.
