Synopsis

In the Sumerian city of 3319 B.C., a young boy is grappling with the nascent forms of writing—the first stirrings of a system that would shape human communication. Yet, his village faces a more immediate peril: the looming threat of raiders, demanding a defense they can scarcely afford.
