The scope of this series, both in its length and narrative, was considerable. It’s possible my perception is skewed because I completed it very quickly (from May 6th, 2021 to May 31st, 2021), and even then, I felt like it went by too fast. Despite that, this series has definitely earned a spot among my favorite anime. I experienced the entire run on Crunchyroll; an advertisement for SAO popped up while I was watching something else, which was irritating. However, I appreciate _A-1 Picture_'s animation style, and that’s what initially drew me in. I'm aware there are criticisms regarding the plot—my sister even mentioned them. I practically pressured her into watching it because I wanted to share how excited I was (though, admittedly, that makes me a bit of a bad brother). Fortunately, she also enjoyed it until the second season. I recall having my own reservations about season 2 as well, even though my rating for it was consistently above 3.5 out of 5. I’m honestly unsure how things could have been improved. Initially, I thought the Aincrad arc should have been extended; but after reaching Alicization War of Underground, I think its length was appropriate. I might not have continued watching otherwise. Typically, I avoid anime categorized as “fighting” or “action,” preferring romcoms and comedies instead. This likely gives me a different viewpoint compared to those who regularly watch that genre. Now, having seen all the available SAO episodes, I feel like something significant is missing from my life, and it’s been affecting me lately. I really want to see the next movie ("_Progressive_") before this feeling fades. How's this for my first English review? (I am a native Japanese speaker) Hopefully, I haven't been too awkward.
