Synopsis

Tonight, MeTV is pleased to once more broadcast the English-language adaptation of the seminal Toho Studios film that launched the reign of Japan's most celebrated kaiju. A stark departure from some of its successors, this early work possesses a far more somber and tragic tone. For the American audience, Raymond Burr, destined to become Perry Mason (the theme music signals his arrival!), made his mark on cinematic history as he witnesses the genesis of Godzilla, King of the Monsters.
