Synopsis

Tom and Greg were among dozens held in servitude at Mr. Smithson’s coal mine. Far away, the Family pursued Billy relentlessly across the land, clinging to him as their sole hope. He paused at a roadside motel to see his girlfriend, Sally, but when the Family found him, he professed innocence and quickly disappeared. Simultaneously, deep within the mine, Greg devised an escape, persuading Smithson that he was a geologist who had detected a dangerous gas leak. Yet, the Family were also closing
